Overview
Metro Chatswood Shopping Centre is part of one of the largest joint public/private infrastructure projects ever undertaken in Australia and will be one of the newest shopping centres in the Sydney metropolitan area.
Developed by CRI Australia Pty Ltd and constructed by Laing O’Rourke, the shopping centre to be named “Metro Chatswood” will be purchased by the Precision Group on its completion in mid 2008 for an agreed minimum price of $83 million. Precision Group is controlling and managing the future leasing of the ongoing development.
The total project will include a new railway station, a new bus interchange, a 10,000sqm shopping centre and three major residential towers housing a total of 500 apartments.
Description
Metro Chatswood is part of the Chatswood Transport Interchange development, one of the largest joint public/private infrastructure projects ever undertaken in Australia.
The overall $360 million project will comprise; a new railway station servicing the Chatswood CBD and eastern terminus for the new Chatswood-Epping rail line, a new bus interchange, a 10,000sqm shopping centre and 3 major residential towers housing a total of 500 apartments.
The railway station, bus interchange and shopping centre are due for completion in mid 2008, with the residential accommodation to be staged thereafter.
