Overview

MacArthur Central Shopping Centre is a modern four level CBD shopping centre located on the corner of Edward and Queen Streets in Brisbane, directly adjacent to the Queen Street Mall. The Centre features a range of convenience specialty retail, along with a high-end fashion offer which sits within Brisbane’s burgeoning international fashion and luxury label precinct on Edward Street. Anchored by Woolworths, Big W, JB HiFi and Apple, the Centre also features an additional 40 specialty retailers including Oroton, Tag Heuer, Hardy Brothers Jewellers, Priceline, Brazilian Beauty, OPSM, Wallace Bishop Jewellers and a range of food court retailers.

In January 2014, the MacArthur Central retail offer was boosted by the opening of Apple's flagship store, which occupies the Lower Ground, Ground and First Floors of MacArthur Chambers on the corner of Queen and Edward Streets. Furthermore, undergoing a recent food court redevelopment with seating for over 280 patrons, the now fresh and soothing décor encourages customers to enjoy time away from their busy schedules.

History

MacArthur Central opened on the 4th November 2002, and was purchased by MacArthur Central Shopping Centre Pty Ltd, an arm of the Precision Group in July 2007 from Investa Property Group. The MacArthur Chambers component of MacArthur Central Shopping Centre remains an English renaissance styled heritage listed structure that is notable for its wartime association with General Douglas MacArthur, where the building was used as the Allied forces South West Pacific Area Headquarters from July 1942 to November 1944.
